Marian Carr told me an important part of woman’s beauty is her chin and neck line. “Nothing makes a woman look older than a double chin,” Marian told me seriously when I visited her last week on the “World for Ransom” set at Allied Artists Studio. “Even a chubby girl will look years older than her classmates if she’s lost her chin line.” “How do you suggest holding that chin line?” I wanted to know. ‘ “You’ll have to exercise,” Marian said. “That’s the only way to keep chin muscles in good shape.”

“Everyone knows what happens to muscles when we don’t use, them.” “Any suggestions?” “A neat trick and one that is so easy to do at any time is to hold a pencil between your teeth and in the air write your full name in large letters, moving from left to right. Be sure to dot all your i’s and cross the t’s. When you finish writing your own name, exercise with names of some of your relatives or friends.”

“Another good exercise can be done when you wake up in the morning,” Marian continued. “Lie across a bed on your back, and let your head hang off the edge, pulling those under-chin muscles. It’s a wonderful stretcher.” “You know, no woman wants to look her age,” Marian went on. “And it’s so easy to use an ounce of prevention before a pound of cure is necessary. Taking care of the little details guarding the chin line, for one thing, can mean so much to a girl’s total beauty.” “That’s good advice,” I had to agree. . “It’s so easy to let yourself go, but it’s so hard to have to knock yourself back into shape,” Marian said. “Remember, it’s just as easy to be on guard as it is to let yourself go. But the cost of carelessness is high.”
